'I'm Adulting' song by Holderness goes viral for all the right reasons

We all know adulting is hard, ambiguous, and mysterious too. Everyone has a different experience in their adulting years but most of it is a mixed swirl of emotions when you don't know how life is changing and is it even for better or what? A hilarious and peppy rap song is going viral that is totally relatable to the people who are in their adulting years, which is why it is spreading like a wildfire over the internet.

Roller coaster ride journey of adulting

Pen Holderness and Kim Holderness, the 40-something duo takes you on a roller coaster ride as they chalk out a comparison between their younger days and the current times when they have grown up. The duo takes you on a journey to their youth when they stayed out late to party yet suffered no hangovers, but as compared to then, they now feel excited to hire a professional couch cleaning company and buying new kitchen appliances, which is exactly what adulting seems to be like.

The lyrics of the song go like, "I cleaned between my toes in the shower. She sat in a carpool for an hour. I put a bill in an envelope. She sliced up a whole cantaloupe."

"I keep getting into situations and I look around the room for the grown-up to make the decision or do the work, and it turns out I’m the adult now,". "Almost daily I think, 'Do they realize I have no idea what I’m doing?'", the couple sings further.

Another stanza of the song says, "Instead of FOMO — fear of missing out — we have FOMS — fear of missing sleep." 

"Kim from 20 years ago would also be horrified at my obsession with closet organization." Penn sings in the original song.

The video is approaching 3 million views on Facebook, so it's clear the North Carolina couple is not alone.
