Addressing the 74th United Nations General Assembly at the UN Headquarters, New York, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Friday, threatened 'another Pulwama' when restrictions in Kashmir are completely lifted. Fearmongering over the condition in Kashmir, Khan predicted that there will be a bloodbath when curfew in Kashmir is lifted. He claimed that the 900,000 troops who are in the Valley to maintain the peace, will shoot at Kashmiris retaliating against the abrogation of article 370. Curiously, the Pakistani Prime Minister referred to J&k as 'Kashmir' and not 'Indian Occupied Kashmir' which is the general stance of Pakistan.

'There will be a bloodbath': Imran Khan

"This has serious consequences, which is why I am here. What is going to happen when the curfew is lifted will be a bloodbath. Narendra Modi says these troops are for the development and prosperity of Kashmir. What are these 900,000 troops going to do when they (Kashmiris) come out? It will be a bloodbath. What will be the impact on the people of Kashmir?" he asked.

Another 'Pulwama' threat

He continued to fearmonger that there will be another Pulwama which will be blamed on Pakistan. He condemned India for blaming Pakistan for the terror infiltrators in Kashmir. Repeating the Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's statement on the terror threat to Kashmir, Khan asked 'what will 500 terrorists do against 900,000 troops?'. Not refuting the presence of terrorists at the LoC, he added that the circle of Indo-Pak attacks will continue.

"The Oppression which has gone down in the past five years will continue. Kashmiris will be further radicalised. There will be another Pulwama. And India will blame us. They are already saying that this is all happening because of Pakistan. Their Defence Minister said that there are 500 terrorists line up to go in. What impact will 500 terrorists have against 900,000 troops?," he asked. Continuing with his Kashmir prediction, he added, "Whenever the curfew lifts, Pakistan will be blamed. There is always a threat of another Pulwama. They might come and bomb us again. And another cycle might start."

He went on to use the global platform to warn of a future terror attack in India saying, "Don't you think the Muslims will be radicalised in India? When they will be radicalised there will be some incident in India somewhere down the line. Again we will be blamed, I am warning you right now. What are 1.3 billion Muslims watching this thinking? Out of 1.3 billion Muslims, someone will pick up arms."

PM Modi's UNGA speech Vs PM Imran Khan's speech

Contrasting PM Imran Khan's 50-minute long speech, India's PM Modi wrapped up his entire speech within the alloted 15 minutes. PM Modi used the global stage to reaffirm India's commitment to fight against terror, climate change. He also showcased India as a global leader in terms of cleanliness, renewable energy and development. On the other hand, Khan fearmongered over Pakistan's helplessness to counter-terror due to its own corruption, threatened looming terror attacks and blamed the UN for not interfering in India's internal issue of abrogating article 370. He also touched barely upon Pakistan's contribution to the world and only blamed India for Pakistan's current predicament.
