The Oregon Health Authority has reported four more coronavirus deaths, bringing the state’s total number of deaths to 26. Authorities on Saturday also reported 100 new, confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are now at least confirmed 999 cases in Oregon.

The deaths reported Saturday were a 65-year-old man, a 59-year-old man, a 77-year-old woman and a 64-year-old woman. All had underlying medical conditions.

For most people, the virus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death.
