Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Friday attacked President Donald Trump for his comment that disinfectants perhaps could be injected or ingested to fight COVID-19.

"Clearly and sadly, this President is not listening to medical experts and I don't know which ones he is listening to, if any," said Pelosi.

The White House claimed Trump's comment Thursday night was misrepresented, but the government also leaped into caution the nation.

Trump has received heavy pushback from health and other officials and even prompted the maker of Lysol to warn its product should never be used internally.

Pelosi also said that she thinks Trump should end his push to privatize the US post office.

She also criticized McConnell for at first opposing adding any money to his original $250 billion package and saying cash-strapped states should be allowed to declare bankruptcy, a move that they currently cannot do and that would threaten a broad range of state services.

McConnell’s comments provoked an outcry - including from GOP governors - and he later tempered his remarks.
