Pittsburgh bus falls into a sinkhole; unusually, rear end-first

In the city of Pittsburgh, an unusual incident took place which even astonished the morning commuters who generally take public transport. It was reported that a bus, while it stopped at the red light, fell backward into a large sinkhole that had opened up. The front half of the bus kept hanging several feet above the ground. 

The bus fell into a rectangular sinkhole

The bus belonged to the Port Authority and was reported to stop at the red light when the incident happened. The Port Authority of Allegheny County officials informed international media that the bus fell backward in a rectangular hole that opened up beneath the bus. The hole was huge enough that half of the bus fell into it. The sight was truly surprising for the local people

No injuries reported 

According to the reports, only the driver of the bus and one passenger were on board when the fall took place. Both the individuals were safely rescued. However, the passenger suffered minor injuries for which they were later treated as reported by the Port Authority. During the incident, another car was reported to have stopped right behind the bus. Lucky the car did not make its way to the sinkhole and the driver safely exited from his car. Later a tow truck pulled the bus out of the sinkhole.

Indianapolis Public School bus crashes in a Pawnshop

In another event, a school bus carrying 24 students was reported to have crashed in a pawn shop. The incident took place in Indianapolis, leaving more than half of the bus inside the shop. According to the police, no student was reported injured when the Indianapolis Public Schools slammed into the side of a Cash America Pawn on October 22. The bus crashed into the brick building and only the rear end of the vehicle was visible. The bus driver did not suffer any injuries. Later the bus was pulled out of the building. The police are still investigating the cause of the accident. According to the reports a car was also present during the crash which might have led to the crash.
