Kicking off his jam-packed visit to the United States on Saturday, PM Modi met with top energy sector CEOs at a Roundtable meeting in Houston, as shared by MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar. Kumar added that the Prime Minister concluded a fruitful meeting with them discussing matters on working together for energy security. He added that the meeting focused on expanding mutual investment opportunities between India and the US. PM Modi is on a week-long trip to the US which will conclude on September 27.

PM Modi's grand arrival in Houston

Earlier on Saturday noon, PM Modi arrived in Houston, Texas on his week-long US trip. He tweeted about arriving in the US saying 'Howdy Houston'. He was welcomed with a red carpet and greeted by the Director, Trade and International Affairs, Christopher Olson and other officials. On his arrival, he tweeted saying, 'Howdy, Houston', expressing his eagerness about his programmes in the United States. He also shared a few pictures of his grand welcome.

PM Modi's US Trip has two main events - 'Howdy, Modi' and UN General Assembly. On September 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a visit to the United States of America. In his six-day long visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Houston-based Texas India Forum will host a community summit in honour of PM Modi at the NRG Stadium on September 22. The NRG stadium is one of America's largest professional football stadiums and is home to the Houston Texans franchise. The Texas India Forum, a not-for-profit organisation, confirmed that they expect 50,000 people to attend the mega event billed as "Howdy, Modi!". Well-known Indian community leader in Houston Jugal Malani who is the convener of the "Howdy, Modi!" organising committee said: "We are excited to hold this summit at the renowned NRG stadium. This will be the largest ever gathering of Indian Americans and friends of India, with a diverse representation from the region and across the country."
