Seattle police use pepper spray at protesters

Police and protesters clashed in Seattle on Saturday as authorities declared a riot following large demonstrations and deployed flash bangs and pepper spray to try to clear crowds. The unrest came after a week of rallies further down the US West Coast in Portland, Oregon, over racial injustice and the presence of federal agents sent by President Donald Trump showed no signs of abating.

In footage shared on social media from Seattle, police are seen charging forward and using pepper spray on retreating protesters.Authorities made more than 40 arrests and said 21 officers suffered mostly minor injuries.
