President Donald Trump sought to clarify his position on the controversial "stop and frisk" policing tactic Friday, as Democratic presidential hopeful Michael Bloomberg found himself under fire for comments he made in 2015 about the method. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said he supports "anything we can do to get down crime and to get rid of drugs."  But he immediately turned his criticism toward Bloomberg, who launched his presidential bid last year with an apology for his previous support of the policy.

The resurfaced audio, though from 2015, reveals Bloomberg saying the way to bring down murder rates is to "put a lot of cops" in minority neighborhoods because that's where "all the crime is."

Trump on Friday called Bloomberg's change of heart "disingenuous."

"I think when a man is with stop and frisk his whole life and then he decides to go Democrat and he goes to a church and he's practically crying, it looked like hell, he's practically crying, saying what a horrible thing he did. I think that's so disingenuous," Trump said.

He then continued to attack Bloomberg as a politician. "He's a lightweight, you're gonna find that out. He's also one of the worst debaters I've ever seen and his presence is zero," Trump said.

The president told reporters he'd rather run against Bloomberg in the 2020 election than Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders because Sanders "has real followers.

About Biden, Trump said his campaign is "stumbling" and "mumbling," but believes he still has a chance to turn it around.

"I think he has a shot. He's got probably almost as good a shot as anyone. but he's going to have to work, going to have to work very hard, much harder than they thought." Trump said.
