President Donald Trump headed to Camp David Friday, after he formally unveiled an ambitious project dubbed "Operation Warp Speed" to distribute COVID-19 vaccines he hoped will be ready by year's end.

In brief remarks to reporters as the left the White House, Trump declined to go into details of the discussions planned for Camp David.

Asked why he hasn't spoken recently with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump said "I just don't want to talk to him right now. We'll, we'll see what happens over the next little while."

He also said he "lost a little flavor" for continuing right now with US-China trade negotiations.

Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said it would be a "working weekend," and the president was going to be speaking with heads of states and elected officials.
