Defiant supporters of US President Donald Trump held a rally in Washington on Saturday a week after the presidential race was called for Democrat Joe Biden.

They expressed their support for Trump through chants and flag waving as they marched to the Supreme Court to protest the election results and falsely assert the vote was stolen.

The president has refused to concede his election loss.

"I believe it's (election result) going to be changing. People have been celebrating very early. Christmas is coming for Trump and it's going to be in a really good way. We're going to win," Trump supporter Marita Meza said.

Earlier, the president delighted his supporters gathered near the White House on Saturday with a slow motorcade drive-by through downtown Washington on the way to his Virginia golf club.
