US President Donald Trump spent more than ten minutes during his Oklahoma rally on Saturday trying to explain away some odd moments from a speech he made last weekend at West Point.

With his supporters in Tulsa laughing along with him, Trump blamed his slippery leather-soled shoes for video of him walking awkwardly down a ramp as he left the West Point podium.

And then he declared that he had used two hands to drink a cup of water — another image that went viral — because he didn't want to spill water on his tie.

Trump was speaking in his first presidential campaign rally since the coronavirus outbreak hit the United States.

The President launched his comeback rally by starkly defining the upcoming election as a choice between national heritage and left-wing radicalism.

But what was meant to be a show of political force was instead met with thousands of empty seats and new coronavirus cases on his campaign staff.
