US National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien on Sunday said Washington would likely remain tough on China, "whoever the next president is". O'Brien was speaking to students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in Hanoi during his three-day visit to the country.

His remarks come as President Donald Trump is doubling down on efforts to disrupt the US election, which was won by President-elect Joe Biden.
