US Teacher assaults special needs student, promptly fired and charged

A Texas teacher has been charged with second-degree felony assault after viral video shows her assaulting a student. The student who is believed to be a special needs student has been admitted in the hospital and is being treated for severe injuries.

Gruesome Viral Video

A cellphone video has recently gone viral showing a substitute teacher of Lehman High School beating a student. In the video the teacher can be seen punching the victim, dragging the helpless teen and even stomping on her head.
The Hays County Sheriff's office has identified the substitute teacher as 32-year old Tiffani Lankford. According to reports, while taking a foreign language class, Lankford became agitated and closed in on the victim. Unfortunately, the viral video does not show what exactly led to the altercation but only the assault.

The school district has claimed that Lankford had initially passed the background check and had been cleared to teach as a substitute teacher. Lankford had worked as a substitute teacher at Lehman since August and had 17 prior classes in that class without incident. After the assault, Lankford was promptly fired and charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault.
The 16-year old special needs student is believed to suffer from epilepsy and was immediately admitted in the hospital, the family attorney claims that the victim had to be treated for severe injuries. 

Principal Keren Zuniga released a statement, "Under no circumstances is that behaviour tolerated at Lehman High School". The school district also echoed the same sentiments, "There is absolutely no excuse or circumstance that can justify what you see in the video".
