US President Joe Biden's task force on empowering workers and boosting collective bargaining met for the first time Thursday.

During the campaign, Biden promised to be the most pro-labor president in history and he created the task force by an executive order last month.

The group, which is co-chaired by Vice President Kamala Harris and Labor Secretary Marty Walsh, will try to come up with more ways to protect workers rights and promote collective bargaining.

The task force is made up of Biden's cabinet and other top officials.

Biden has called upon it to make recommendations in 180 days.
