A young woman in New Jersey who captured video of a tornado on her cellphone from her family's outdoor deck Tuesday says she's still in awe of the experience.

Madelyn Fisher, 18, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, says she and her family are currently in their Ocean City, New Jersey vacation home for a few weeks when tropical storm Isaias swept through.

Her family's home is located a few blocks from the ocean.

"I was a little afraid, but I was more so in awe of it, really. I'd never seen a tornado, so I didn't know exactly what to look for. But I knew that there was one in our area that had touched down in the island to the south of us, Strathmere. So, I was anticipating something and when I saw that I was a little bit fearful...Our house is on stilts, so our house was kind of swaying in the wind. So, that was pretty scary," she told the Associated Press.

Tornadoes were confirmed by the National Weather Service in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.

More than 1.2 million of electric utility customers are currently without power across the state.
