A Florida woman has made headlines after she stopped a man from committing suicide by reciting a lyric from Linkin Park's song 'One More Light'.

In a video tweeted out by Orange County Sheriff's Office, a sequence of events followed in which a man was ready to jump to his death. Thanks to Cristina Settanni, a healthcare worker who spotted the man sitting on the edge of the overpass on State Road 408, tragedy was averted. Settanni immediately stopped her car and decided to take a call on saving the man's life. The tweet by the sheriff's office said:

"The man looked like he was ready to jump off an overpass."

According to Settanni, she passed him first but decided to stop. The reason she stopped is because she has been in the same place, she said.

“I stopped because I have been where he was. I know what it is like to stand on the ledge and think that is your only option,” she said in the clip that has gone viral ever since it was tweeted by the Orange County Sheriff's Office

However, things were still dicey and the unpredictable man did make a move forward. As he moved forward, Settanni moved along too. She said "‘Nope, you go, I go,” That's when Settanni decided to recite a lyric from her favourite band's song One More Light:

“It’s a Linkin Park song ‘Who cares if one more light goes out, In a sky of a million stars… I do’ one person cares,” she said in the video.

By this time the sheriff's office had received enough calls about a man trying to commit suicide. The sheriff's deputy reached the spot and tried consoling the distressed man. The man had to be forcibly pulled away from the edge as he was not coming back even after multiple requests by Deputy Shaun Cayer. Apparently, the man took the drastic step because of the wrong decisions he made that affected his family. He was later taken to a Mental Healthcare facility. However, the incident has also taken a toll on Settanni herself who says that she thinks about the man every other day. In addition, she also said that she has stopped taking State Road 408 to get to work.

The song 'One More Light' is from the album of the same name. Also, it was Linkin Park's last single with their longtime vocalist Chester Bennington. Bennington died in July 2017. Fans are convinced that Bennington has outlived through his songs yet again. The hashtag #makeChesterproud was tweeting in the comments thread.
