Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he does not believe his service has become a "right wing echo chamber."

Zuckerberg was interviewed by Mike Allen of Axios on HBO. Allen asked if the louded voices on Facebook are those of well-known conservatives, and if that is helping conservatives ahead of the upcoming 2020 election in the United States.

Zuckerberg responded that many people feel that traditional media sources do not reflect their life experiences, and that they are able to find media sources that they trust through Facebook and other social media platforms.

He added that the stories that reach the most people on Facebook are stories that people talk about, but not necessarily highly partisan political issues.

Facebook has in the past been criticised for continuing to downplay the possibility of the social network being exploited for dark purposes in a range of contexts across the globe, but Zuckerberg's supporters counter that he is unfairly blamed for problems he could not have forseen.
