Former president Donald Trump admitted that Republicans underperformed during last week’s midterm elections when they failed to win many key races or take back the Senate majority.

The former president made the remarks during the announcement of his third presidential campaign in as many election cycles on Tuesday evening at his home at Mar-a-Lago.

As Trump announced his "big plan" to run for the next presidential elections, Democratic leader Bernie Sanders praised the decision of the former president but added his lies and divisiveness and his efforts to undermine American democracy are an absolute horror show.
“As an American, the idea of another Trump campaign and all of his lies and divisiveness and his efforts to undermine American democracy is an absolute horror show," he told New York Times.

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday launched an acerbic attack on his predecessor and potential rival in the 2024 elections, Donald Trump, saying he has "failed America" and alleged that Trump's rule was marked by "record-breaking unemployment".
Trump, facing several criminal investigations of his conduct related to his presidency, announced from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Tuesday that he will run for the US president in 2024 to make America "great and glorious" again.

Following his speech, Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka said she planned to support her father “outside the political arena”. “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics," She told Fox News.

Even after GOP losses, ex-US President Donald Trump remains the most powerful force in his party. For years he has consistently topped his fellow Republican contenders by wide margins in hypothetical head-to-head matchups. The first president to do it for that long a period.” “I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said to an audience of several hundred supporters, club members and gathered press in a chandeliered ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago club, where he stood flanked by more than 30 American flags and banners that read, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Bolstering his claims, Trump claimed during his tenure no such actions had taken place. "North Korea had not launched a single long-ranging missile. That was due to my relationship with him. Ex-US President Donald Trump has filed official paperwork with the Federal Election Commission annopuncing himself a candidate for presidential run in 2024.

Additional documents filed with the FEC set up an account for campaign fundraising. It will be linked to the Save America Joint Fundraising Committee, which for months has been pouring money into Trump’s leadership PAC, Save America, reported USA Today.

 According to a report by The Independent, Jason Miller, a longtime adviser to Trump, claimed that Trump has confirmed his upcoming plan and added he will definitely run for the next presidential elections. “President Trump is going to announce on Tuesday that he’s running for president. And it’s going to be a very professional, very buttoned-up announcement," said Miller.  According to the Trump advisor, more than 1,000 notable people are expected to attend the event and added more than 250 cameras have requested access.

As the former US President Donald trump is expected to announce his presidential bid, MAGA supporters reportedly gathered outside the Mar-a-Lago Club to cheer for him. Americans were seen carrying flag, and banners with messages emblazoned in support of the former US leader. 

Trump is being accused of stealing from the Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker’s campaign via “deceptive” fundraising. Walker is set to face Senator Raphael Warnock in a runoff in Georgia on 6 December. Neither of the two candidates won a majority during the midterm votes.  Scott Paradise, Walker’s campaign manager, is now calling out at the Republicans for advertising the fundraising for Walker to extract more funding, NBC News reported.

An airplane flew a banner flew over Palm Beach, Florida,  trailing a banner that read: “You lost again Donald! DeSantis 2024” according to reports. This came ahead of a major announcement that Trump is expected to make this evening in the US at his Mar a Lago residence. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis earlier responded to former President Donald Trump’s recent criticism saying that ex-US President's remarks are “noise." 

“One of the things that I’ve learned in this job, when you’re leading, when you are getting things done, yeah, you take incoming fire. That’s just the nature of it,” DeSantis said at a news conference in Fort Walton Beach.

“I don’t think any governor got attacked more, particularly by corporate media, than me over my four-year term. And yet, I think what you learn is, all that’s just noise. And really what matters is, are you leading? Are you getting in front of issues? Are you delivering results for people? And are you standing up for folks? And if you do that, then, none of that stuff matters.”

“And that’s what we’ve done. We’ve focused on results and leadership. And you know at the end of the day, I would just tell people to check out the scoreboard last Tuesday night,” said Florida Gov. 

As former US President Donald Trump prepares to make a big announcement, a banner flew over Mar-a-Lago that read: “3X BIGLY LOSER," according to reports. Republican leader Trump is slated to announce a new run for White House in 2024 but is already meeting with some rebukes and protests. 

A Florida judge has asked Michael Flynn, former Donald Trump national security adviser, to testify before the Fulton County, Georgia grand jury in connection with 2020 election interference in the state, The Independent reported. Flynn was ordered tio appear before the grand jury on 22 November. His appeal to temporarily block his summons was rejected earlier today. 

Protesters have reportedly gathered outside the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City as the former US president prepared to announce another presidential bid for 2024. 

Reports suggest that former President Donald Trump is trying to convince Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, the two members of his family to join the announcement at Mar-a-Lago for his 2024 presidential bid. Trump has hinted that a big announcement is coming up but did not say exactly what it will be. It is expected that he will launch a third bid for the presidency. 

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, now appearing as a rival to former US president Donald Trump, responded to the criticism that he recently faced from him. In his reponse, DeSantis said: "Check the scoreboard." He was asked during a news conference Tuesday about the former president’s announcement tonight and the remarks directed at him. Florida governor underscored his re-election win last week and without naming Trump, reminded about mandate of people.

Trump mocked DeSantis over campaign video that involved excessive praises for the ex president. Democrat-aligned Twitter account Patriot Takes  DeSantis' campaign ad from 2018 in which the then-candidate for Florida governor and his family swear to Trump loyalty in exaggerated manner. “Thanks, Ron!” Trump himself responded to the clip on truth Social.

A New York State judge dismissed Mary Trump’s multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the former president Donald Trump, her uncle on Tuesday. The judge cited an agreement that was signed by Mary, a clinical psychologist, to settle a dispute over the will of her late grandfather, Fred Trump Sr. Mary said in the court document that the ex-president, his late brother Robert Trump, and his sister, retired federal judge Maryanne Trump Barry, breached financial obligation after they duped her of millions of dollars that would have been legally  inherited by her from the estate of her late father, Fred Trump Jr.  

New York Supreme Court Justice Robert Reed said in an opinion published that Mary had "clearly and unambiguously” given up her right to sue Trump and others as part of the $2.7m settlement. 

Some Republican governors and their donors believe that the Republican Party must move past the former US President Donald Trump. At Republican Governors Association annual event one week after the GOP’s dissatisfying performance, Ricky Caplin, a top RGA donor and technology entrepreneur from Jacksonville, Fla. reportedly said that it's time for a change for the Republican party and America. “Announcing you are running for president the week after a general election is just a terrible idea,” he told WSJ on the sidelines of the meet. “It’s just not smart and can only be self-serving.”

Former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, on Tuesday said that the loss of the 2016 election to Trump "still hurts." Michelle admitted that US electorate’s decision to replace her husband, Barack Obama, with Trump made her reaccess the duo's time in office.  “But then I look around when there is more clarity… and think more rationally, I think well… today there’s a whole world of young people who are thinking differently about themselves because of the work that we’ve done,” Michelle Obama told BBC Breakfast.

US Justice Department prosecutors have slammed Trump’s what they described the ‘shifting argument' that impacts the "immovable realities of the records." Justice Department’s national security division prosecutors questioned former president Donald Trump’s claim that non-classified White House records seized during the August 8 Mar a Lago search were designated as “personal” records after they were removed from the White House.

Americans voted for Democrats for the control of the Senate simply because of the vile reaction of the GOP against the attack on Paul Pelosi, Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested on Sunday referring to the attack on her husband. “It wasn’t just the attack. It was the Republican reaction to it, which was disgraceful,” the California Democrat told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“The attack is horrible. I mean, imagine what I feel as the one who was the target and my husband paying the price and the traumatic effect on our family,” she said. “But that trauma is intensified by the ridiculous disrespectful attitude that the Republicans – and there’s nobody disassociating themselves from the horrible response that they gave to it.”

“Do you think that turned voters off?” Bash asked, to which Pelosi replied: “They tell me so," Pelosi said. 

 

Republican Liz Cheney, a strong critic of Trump on Tuesday launched scathing attack on former President as he was set to make an important announcement. “Donald Trump orchestrated a scheme to overturn a presidential election and block the transfer of power. He is obligated to provide answers to the American people,” Cheney said in a statement. “In the days ahead, the committee will evaluate next steps in the litigation and regarding the former president’s noncompliance," she added refering to Jan 6 riot probe. 

Jan 6 House committee investigating the Jan 6 Capitol riots has said that ex US President Donald Trump "is hiding from the investigation" and failed to comply with a subpoena calling on him to appear for a closed-door deposition. “Even though the former president initially suggested that he would testify before the committee, he has since filed a lawsuit asking the courts to protect him from giving testimony,” the committee’s chair Bennie Thompson, and vice chair Liz Cheney, said in a statement.

“The truth is that Donald Trump, like several of his closest allies, is hiding from the Select Committee’s investigation and refusing to do what more than a thousand other witnesses have done.”
