Joe Biden reacts to Derek Chauvin sentence, says it is 'appropriate'

President Joe Biden said Friday he thought the prison sentencing of Derek Chauvin for 22 1/2 years for the death of George Floyd "seems to be appropriate."  But he acknowledged he didn't have all the details.

Biden made the comment during an Oval Office meeting with the leaders of Afghanistan.

The white 45-year-old former Minneapolis officer was sentenced Friday for pressing his knee to George Floyd's throat for up to 9 1/2 minutes as the Black man gasped that he couldn't breathe before dying.
