US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry warned world leaders that the world is now in "the decisive decade" to limit the effects of climate change, and must "raise ambitions" to meet the challenge.
Kerry spoke remotely at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, framing climate change as a global security threat.
"When tensions are already high somewhere and resources are increasingly scarce, the embers of conflict just burn brighter," he said.
Kerry said the last several years had been "wasted" because of Trump-era climate policy and reaffirmed the Biden administration's commitment to reversing course.
