A Chicago bus driver looking for a way to relieve stress during the pandemic jumped into Lake Michigan for a 365th straight day on Saturday, marking the completion of a full year of performing the feat.

Dan O'Conor said he started jumping into the lake at Montrose Harbor on the city's North Side last year to relieve stress.

Soon the father of three found himself doing a daily dive into the lake through the fall.

The challenging part came in the winter, he says, when he had to hack through ice to force a way through into the water.

At one point, he said when he got home after one such jump, he found some 20 scrapes and cuts on his body.

Support from the community and a positive response on social media, where he posted his videos, encouraged him to keep going.
