Pence meets National Guard troops outside Capitol

US Vice President Mike Pence on Thursday night made a surprise visit to the Capitol where he thanked National Guard troops for their service at a time of heightened tensions ahead of next week's inauguration of Joe Biden.

It was Pence's first trip back to the Captiol since rioters attacked the building last week.
