A 34-year-old Missouri woman has made headlines after she not only tracked down the thief who stole her car, but also took back her car from the thief all without the help of the police.

In what seems like a scene from popular video game Grand Theft Auto (GTA) the victim stole back her own car. Danielle Reno was at a gas station in Kansas City, Missouri, when a woman decided to mess with her. As per reports, the person made off with Reno's Toyota 4Runner. Adding to her distress, Reno's wallet was still inside her SUV when the thief zoomed off with it. Following the unexpected turn of events, Reno decided to follow the standard procedure and reported the theft to cops. However, having a brainwave, within minutes, Reno decided to take matters into her own hands.

Thanks to the incompetence of the thief, as well as the marvel that is mofdern technology and surveillance, Reno was able to latch on to the trail of the thief who insisted on using the credit card and mobile phone that she had also stolen with the car. Oddly, the police seemed unable or unwilling to take the appropriate action, forcing Reno herself to follow the breadcrumbs which eventually led to a gas station where the owner said he overheard the thief and her friend talking about visiting a restaurant chain. Reno got some help and went to the chain's outlets in the vicinity, and finally, while waiting at one where she claimed to have a 'gut feeling', saw the thief whom she had seen in multiple CCTV videos already, walk in. As the thieves placed their orders, Reno took her spare car key and stole back her car. Following the series of events, Reno documented the happenings on Facebook by uploading two videos. In one video she shows the suspect being arrested along with two other accomplices.

"You're about to see 'em get busted," Reno says in the video.

Later, Reno spoke to the media and described the moment she reclaimed her car.

"It was exhilarating," she said. "I had the biggest adrenaline rush ever. I was super, super happy."

However, Reno's vehicle was in a bad condition and now she does not feel like driving it.

"There were dirty clothes and garments all over. It smelled horrible." she added

When she's not stealing back things stolen from her, Reno is also a dog rescuer and heads an animal shelter named Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption.
