Former US Ambassador to the United Nations and GOP Presidential hopeful Nikki Haley slammed US President Joe Biden in her latest campaign ad. In the ad, the former South Carolina Governor said that the United States needs a new generation of leaders, calling Biden “too old” to continue as the president of the United States. Throughout her presidential campaign, Haley has repeatedly needled the 81-year-old US President for his age. She was one of the prominent Republican presidential candidates who floated the idea of “mental competency tests”.

“I’ll just say it: Biden’s too old,” the former South Carolina Governor said to the camera as she opened her 30-second video titled “New Generation”. She went on to compare the United States to a nursing home. “Biden is old and Congress is the most exclusive nursing home in America.  Washington keeps failing because politicians from yesterday can't lead us into tomorrow,” she added. In the 30-second campaign, Haley expressed the need to have term limits, mental competency tests for politicians and finally called new generation of leaders to take charge.

An ‘age-old’ demand

Earlier this year, Haley condemned congressmen and congresswomen for not leaving their office even after they reached 80. She insinuated that the United States was “less safe" because of politicians are turning it into a “nursing home” “We can’t stand watching Dianne Feinstein sit there and be told by an aide how she should vote. We can’t worry about Mitch McConnell being frozen at a podium. We can’t have Joe Biden forget where he is,” she told CBS in September. Meanwhile, in his 30-minute ad campaign, Haley did not mention anything about Former US President Donald Trump who is at 77 and will be in his 80s in the office, if gets elected. However, she did call on voters to “leave behind the chaos and drama of the past with a new generation and new conservative president.” Haley who has served as the US ambassador to the UN under the Trump presidency has often associated the term “chaos” to describe what Trump's second term in office would look like.
