UGC shows moment police car drives into protesters

New footage has emerged showing two New York Police Department police cruisers drive forward into protesters during Saturday's demonstrations against the death police custody of George Floyd.

New York City saw its third consecutive day of protests on Saturday, which at moments  escalated into scattered clashes with law enforcement.

The video shows two police cruisers travelling into a crowd of demonstrators who were pushing a barricade against one of them and pelting it with objects.

Protests have ignited across the US following the death of Floyd, a black man who died on Monday after an arresting officer in Minneapolis pushed his knee into Floyd’s neck while he was on the ground handcuffed.

New York City police said by Sunday 345 people were arrested, 33 officers were injured and 27 police vehicles were damaged or destroyed.
