Forbes India Rich List 2023: Mukesh Ambani replaces Gautam Adani as India's richest person
Gautam Adani, who holds the second position with a net worth of $68 billion, saw a 55% fall in his net worth as compared to the 2022 figure of $150 billion
Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has topped this year's Forbes India's 100 Richest list. The billionaire's net worth stands at $92 billion dollars which is 4.5 per cent more than his 2022 net worth of $88 billion. Mukesh Ambani has replaced Gautam Adani as India's richest person. Gautam Adani, who holds the second position with a net worth of $68 billion, saw a 55 per cent fall in his net worth as compared to the 2022 figure of $150 billion.
HCL Enterprise founder Shiv Nadar has gained the third position with a net worth of $29.3 billion, according to Forbes India. In 2022, Shiv Nadar was fifth on the list with a net worth of $21.5 billion. With a net worth of $24 billion, OP Jindal Group's Savitri Jindal has secured the fourth position in the Forbes list, 46 per cent higher than her 2022 net worth of $16.4 billion.
Ace investor and founder of Avenue Supermarts Limited Radhakrishnan Damani has slipped to fifth position from third last year. Damani's net worth in 2023 stands at $23 billion as against $27.6 billion in 2022. Serum Institute of India chairman Cyrus Poonawalla also slipped to sixth in 2023 from fourth position a year ago. His net worth as per Forbes currently is $20.7 billion, which is 3.7 per cent lower than $21.5 billion in 2022.
Hinduja family which owns Ashok Leyland and other businesses comes seventh in the list with a net worth of $20 billion. In 2022, Hinduja Family's net worth stood at $15.2 billion, according to Forbes' list. Dilip Shanghvi & family comes eighth in the Forbes India Rich List 2023 with a net worth of $19 billion, which is 22.58 per cent more than the conglomerate's net worth of $15.2 billion in 2022.
