The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important notice for schools regarding the classes 10th and 12th admissions for the board exams 2024. CBSE has uploaded the schedule for schools for direct admissions  and submission of list of candidates etc. 

CBSE in its latest notice said that its main responsibility is to conduct secondary and senior secondary exams and in order to hold them successfully, it issues notifications and circulars as and when required. “This year, an amended schedule is being issued to be strictly followed by the schools so that other activities of the examinations - 2024 could be completed on time,” the official notice reads.

A document on framework and guidelines for Class 10, 12 certificate exams has also been released by CBSE for guidance of schools. It has asked principals of schools to go through the circular and act in a manner to submit LOC on time and correct.

Last date to submit LOCs is Septmber 13

As per the schedule, the schools  can start submitting the list of candidates (LOCs) from August 14, 2023 for classes 10 and 12. The last date to submit LOCs is September 13 without late fees. Schools can submit the LOCs from September 14 to 22 with a late fine. 

Candidates or parents can apply for change of subjects till August 31. Schools will have to complete the procedure and make the required changes of subjects in the LOCs till August 31. 

Schools will have time to give direct admissions to students in classes 10th and 12th till August 31. All cases of direct admissions have to be compiled and sent to the regional offices of CBSE till August 31. 

Students participating in sports and olympiad activities will have to send their requests by December. 31 The schools have to submit their recommendations to the Sports Authority of India or Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education for their recommendations. The board has asked schools to send all the details by December 31.

Regarding attendance shortage cases, CBSE has asked schools to consider student’s attendance up to January 1, 2024 and submit all the cases of attendance shortage to the CBSE office by January 5. Schools will receive board approvals by January 31. Moreover, schools have been asked to send requests related to wards of armed forces and para military forces martyred in the line of duty by January 31.
