Delhi nursery admissions 2024: Registrations for private schools to begin tomorrow

New Delhi: The admission process for nursery, KG, and class 1 in private schools in Delhi will begin tomorrow, November 23. Parents of eligible candidates can apply for admission on or before December 15. As per the schedule, the first admissions list will be out on January 12, 2024. There is a 25 per cent reservation of seats for economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged group (DG) students, and children with disabilities in private schools. A separate list will be released for them.

Delhi School Admissions: Eligibility Criteria

For admission in pre-school (nursery)- The minimum age as of March 31 should be three years and the upper age limit is four years.

For admission in pre-primary (KG)- The minimum age as of March 31 should be four years and the upper age limit is five years.

For admission in Class-1- The minimum age as of March 31 should be five years and the upper age limit is six years.

“Age relaxation for admission of up to 30 days may be granted at the level of the head of school in the minimum and upper-age limits for these classes,” the notice reads.

Application Fees

Buying of the prospectus is not mandatory along with the admission form and only Rs 25 can be charged as a registration fee from parents, the notification stated.

List of documents required for nursery admission in Delhi

• Birth certificate or passport of the child
• Residence proof of both permanent and current addresses
• Photo ID proof of both the parents and child
