BREAKING: Supreme Court Reserves Judgement in NEET-UG 2024 Re-Exam Plea
The Supreme Court has reserved the order in the NEET-UG re-exam plea on July 23.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has reserved the judgement in the NEET-UG re-exam plea on July 23. A bench led by Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud heard the plea of candidates seeking re-examination for all.
Arguments are being concluded and judgement is being reserved. It is imperative that the final conclusions of the court should be recorded at the present stageas there is an urgent need to provide certainity and finality to the dispute that affects the careers of over 2 milion students. The reasons for the conclusions will follow later but we proceed to record the essential conclusions in the following terms:
- The fact that a leak of NEET-UG paper took place at Hazaribagh, Jharkhand and at Patna, Bihar is not in dispute.
- Following the tranfer of the probe, CBI has filed its status report dated July 10, 2024, July 17, 2024 and July 21, 2024. The disclosures by CBI indicate that the investiation is continuing. However, CBI has inidcated that 155 students drawn from exam centres at hazaribagha nd patna appear to be the beneficiaries of the fraud. Since the investigation by CBI has not attained finality at the present time, this court required the union govt to indicate
The bench had on Monday asked the Director, IIT-Delhi to set up a team of three experts that would go into a particular question of Physics asked in the NEET-UG 2024 examination and submit a report on the correct answer by Tuesday noon.
