New Delhi – The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections for the 2024-25 academic year have been scheduled for September 27, as announced by Delhi University officials. Students from across the Delhi University's affiliated colleges will soon cast their votes to elect representatives for one of India's most prestigious student unions.
Important Dates to Remember
- Nomination Deadline: Students willing to contest this year election can submit their nominations by September 17.
- Withdrawal of Nominations: Candidates wishing to withdraw because of any reason, must do so by 12 PM on September 18.
- Final Candidate List: The final list of contesting candidates will be published by 5 PM on September 18 after that no one can withdraw their nomination.
What is Nomination Process?
For those contesting in DUSU election this year, they have to submit their nomination papers to Chief Election Officer Satyapal Singh’s office located in North Campus before the deadline mentioned above.

What Is DUSU?
The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) is the official representative body for most students enrolled at Delhi University and its affiliated colleges. The time of elections in Delhi University is filled with excitement and are fiercely contested. Over the years, several former DUSU office-bearers have gone on to hold influential positions in state and national politics.
All You Need to Know About Election Procedure
DUSU elections are held annually, allowing students to vote directly. Voting usually takes place between August and September, and this year’s polls are set for September 27, with vote counting to take place on September 28.

Check Voting Schedule
- For Day Classes voting will be held between 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
- For Evening Classes voting will be conducted from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Past Election Results
In the 2023 DUSU elections, the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)secured three of the four central panel positions, including the presidency. The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), representing the Congress party, won the vice-presidency.

The last DUSU elections before 2023 were held in 2019, as polls were suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and no elections took place in 2022 due to disruptions in the academic calendar.
