The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2023 for the recruitment of Deputy Superintendent of Police positions in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The examination is scheduled to be held on 16th and 17th March 2024 in Delhi. With tentative vacancies of 23, including 18 for the Unreserved category, 3 for Scheduled Castes, and 2 for Scheduled Tribes, this exam is exclusively available for specific categories of CBI departmental candidates.

Eligibility details, including syllabus, scheme of examination, and physical standards, can be found in the Rules of the Examination issued by the Department of Personnel & Training in the Gazette of India dated 20th December 2023. Aspirants can access this information on the UPSC website, www.upsc.gov.in.

The last date to submit the online application form is 9th January 2024, and the link will be deactivated after this deadline. Applicants must also send a hard copy of the online application to the CBI headquarters at CGO Complex, Lodi Road, New Delhi-110003, for verification. The hard copy receipt deadlines are 24th January 2024 (CBI HQ) and 15th February 2024 (from CBI HQ to UPSC).

Following the examination, a seven-day window will be available for candidates to submit representations on the exam's questions via the "Online Question Paper Representation Portal (QPRep)" from the day after the examination until 6:00 p.m. on the seventh day.

The e-Admission Certificates for eligible candidates will be uploaded on the UPSC website approximately one week before the exam date. The Commission will not issue any paper Admission Certificates.

Candidates should register on the UPSC website, www.upsconline.nic.in, to fill out the online application form. A valid and active email address is mandatory for registration and receiving further instructions and details. Applicants must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university and have completed four years of regular service as a Sub-Inspector or Inspector by 1st January 2023, adhering to the specified age criteria. The upper age limit can be relaxed by up to five years for SC/ST candidates.
