QS Asia University Rankings places IIT Bombay & IIT Delhi among top 50 universities

The QS Asia University Rankings 2024 were released on Wednesday, November 8. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, two Indian universities, are listed in the top 50.

The QS Asia University Rankings 2024 were released on Wednesday, November 8 by Quacquarelli Symonds. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, two Indian universities, are listed among the top 50.

As the best university in India, IIT Bombay is ranked 40th in Asia overall. In a similar vein, IIT Delhi was placed second among Indian universities overall and 46th overall.

The University of Hong Kong came in second, the National University of Singapore came in third, and Peking University of China came in first on the Asia ranking list with Rank 1. Tsinghua University in China and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have tied for fourth place.

China's Zhejiang University came in sixth, followed by Fudan University and Yonsei University of South Korea in seventh and eighth places, respectively. The Chinese University of Hong Kong took the tenth spot, followed by Korea University in ninth. The QS Asia University Rankings for this year include 856 universities in Asia.

This year, QS Asia University Rankings can also be viewed in sub-regions which include Central Asia, Eastern Asia, South Eastern Asia, and Southern Asia.

According to the website, the ranking's methodology was derived from the same data as the QS World University Rankings, but with a few extra indicators and modified weightings.

The QS Asia University Rankings are based on 11 indicators, which include faculty-to-student ratio, employer reputation, academic reputation, global network for research, citations for each faculty member's paper, personnel with a PhD, percentage of international faculty, percentage of international students, percentage of exchange students coming in and percentage of students going out.
