Delhi Elections 2025: As early trends from the Delhi election vote count suggested a lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ), social activist Anna Hazare launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal . Hazare accused Kejriwal of straying from the ideals of purity, sacrifice, and integrity.
"I have always said that a candidate’s conduct and thoughts should be pure, life should be without blame, and sacrifice should be there. These qualities let voters have faith in him," Hazare said on Saturday.
Reflecting on his past association with Kejriwal during the India Against Corruption movement, Hazare expressed disappointment, claiming that Kejriwal ignored his advice and allowed himself to be consumed by the allure of power and wealth. "I told this to Arvind Kejriwal, but he did not pay heed, and finally, he focused on liquor. Why did this issue arise? He was overwhelmed by money and power," Hazare added.
