Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Mohan Yadav, Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla took oath on Wednesday, December 13 at 11:30 am as Chief minister and deputy chief ministers respectively.
The ceremony was held at the Lal Parade Ground in the capital and leaders like PM Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the event.
Shukla is a strong Brahmin face in the Vindhya Pradesh region. Here are some facts you must know about Rajendra:
Rajendra was born on August 3, 1964. He comes from an engineering background and was the president of the student union at the government university.
Shukla married Sunita Shukla and the couple shares three kids- two daughters and a son.
He first contested Assembly polls in 1998 but lost the race by a thin margin of 1,000 votes to his rival Independent candidate Pushpraj Singh. However, in 2003 he managed to defeat Singh in the state elections and continued to remain undefeated.
In the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Polls 2023, Shukla won the election race with a margin of 21,339 votes.
Shukla has held several ministry portfolios, including public health engineering, industry, and Energy among others in the Madhya Pradesh government. He is known for the development projects he carried out in Rewa, including the airport and the largest solar project.
