The winners of the 69th National Awards were announced on August 24. Kriti Sanon shared the National Award for Best Actress with Alia Bhatt, while Allu Arjun won the Best Actor award for his performance in Pushpa. Following the announcement, Allu Arjun congratulated all the winners. Later, Kriti responded to his congratulatory message and expressed her wish to work with the Pushpa star.

Allu Arjun congratulated Kriti Sanon for her maiden National Award win. He wrote, "Heartiest congratulations to dear @kritisanon for an amazing performance as #Mimi. Very deserved. Happy for you dear." Reacting to this, Kriti Sanon thanked the actor and congratulated him for his big win. She added, "I’ve been a fan of your work and you were mind-blowingly amazing in and as Pushpa!! So so well deserved."

Allu Arjun replied, "Thank you soo much my dear. Touched & humbled by your admiration. Hope to make you feel that way in the future too. warmest regards." Kriti Sanon was quick to respond to the message and expressed her unfulfilled desire to work with him. She wrote, "Here’s manifesting a film together. Looking forward to Pushpa 2 with my fav sukumar garu! love and regards always."

Kriti Sanon revealed that she was in a meeting and was completely unaware of her National Award win at the time of the announcement. About the winning moment, the Mimi actress told IANS, "I couldn’t understand what was going on. I usually don't step outside the meetings to take calls but this time I had to, and that's when I really got to know the news. I was so elated and emotional that I had to pause the meeting and run down to give my parents a hug."
