Amaran has been trending ever since its release on the occasion of Diwali . Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi are the leading faces in the movie which takes inspiration from the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan and his wife Indhu Rebecca Varghese. Amaran has been dubbed as one of the best films on army sacrifice in Indian cinema. Because of its positive word of mouth and good reviews, Amaran is looking at a tremendous first-weekend collection, most of which has come from Tamil Nadu.

So how is Amaran faring at the box office compared to Bollywood hits on the Indian armed forces - Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike and Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone .  

How much did Uri, Fighter collect in the opening weekend?

Uri (2019) is considered one of Bollywood's biggest hits for a movie that is based on the Indian armed forces. The film is based on the 2016 Indian Army's surgical strikes on Pakistan Administered Kashmir as a retaliation for the Uri attack. Riding on the patriotic wave, the film collected ₹35.73 crore in its opening weekend. The collections grew by around 75% from day one (Friday) to Sunday (day three). Uri had a non-holiday release.

Fighter, which released earlier this year, set the tone for Bollywood releases this year. It minted ₹89.5 crore in the first three days of its extended opening weekend. However, amid mixed reviews, the film crashed at the box office in the first week. Fighter hit the big screens on Republic Day weekend.

How is Amaran performing at the box office?

Amaran, released on Diwali , has set off fireworks at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi starrer has minted ₹62.25 crore in the first three days. It will look to wrap up its first-weekend collection at under ₹90 crore. Worldwide, Amaran collection stands at ₹68.65 crore.
