Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman's concert was originally scheduled for August 12 in Chennai. However, it was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions. Recently, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister MK Stalin reacted to it.

AR Rahman makes an appeal to Tamil Nadu government

After his tweet, fans expressed their disappointment and frustration over the cancellation of the concert. While some mentioned that they had already headed to the venue, others stated that they had eagerly waited for weeks to get a ticket. In response, AR Rahman apologised and mentioned his desire for performing at venues with advanced infrastructure to minimise disruptions caused by weather conditions.

He also tagged the government and highlighted the need for advanced infrastructure to support art, large-scale shows and international experiences in Chennai. He also hopes for the development of facilities that are rain-resistant, sun-resistant, and clutter-free.

"I hope and pray that with the help of our government..we construct the next level infrastructure for art, mega shows and international experiences for Chennai," he said.

CM MK Stalin's response to AR Rahman's tweet

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, responded to AR Rahman's appeal with a tweet and assured that Chennai's aspirations for improved cultural infrastructure would soon be fulfilled. He announced plans for the establishment of the "Kalaignar Convention Centre" on ECR, which is designed as a world-class facility capable of hosting concerts, performances, exhibitions, and conventions.

He added that the facility is envisioned to feature iconic landscaping, hotels, food courts, parking and excellent connectivity, serving as a new cultural landmark for the city.
