Akshay Kumar Joins Hands With Siddharth Anand For Action Film After Streak Of Flops?
Owing to his streak of flop movies, Akshay Kumar reportedly feels that an action movie under Siddharth Anand's production is the right for him at this point.
Akshay Kumar is going through a rough phase as his movies are not doing well at the box office, including Sarfira and Khel Khel Mein. Amid giving streak of box office failure, Khiladi Kumar has signed a new project this time with hit filmmaker Siddharth Anand. While Siddharth will be producing the project, Milan Luthria, known for his movies Taxi No. 9211, The Dirty Picture and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, will serve as a director.
Siddharth Anand ropes Akshay Kumar for action film
According to a report in Pinkvilla, Siddharth has got together director-writer duo Milan Kuthria and Rajat Arora for an actioner set against the zone of a vigilante movie. "When the script was locked, the trio (Siddharth, Milan and Rajat) unanimously felt that Akshay Kumar is the best fit for the film and on hearing the script, Akshay also felt that this is the right film for him to associate with at this point of time,” the source added.
Akshay Kumar is 'excited' to be part of the project
The source further mentioned that the Khel Khel Mein actor is excited to do the movie as he loves action and is always up for challenges. "The Milan Luthria directorial will see him in a never seen before avatar, that does justice to the legacy created by him in action," the source continued.
Meanwhile, Siddharth and his wife Mamta, who co-wons their production house Marflix are excited to collaborate with Akshay.
What's next for Siddharth Anand?
The director who last directed the movie Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, is currently focusing on his production house. He also has King and Saif Ali Khan starrer The Jewel Thief - The Red Sun Chapter in the pipeline as a producer.

After the debacle of Akshay Kumar, he is focusing on the release of his next movie Sky Force, an action thriller, co-starring Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan. t is a take on India's retaliatory attack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965, described as India's first and deadliest airstrike. Sky Force is scheduled to release on October 2 this year.
