Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 becomes 4th highest Bollywood grosser with A certificate
Akshay Kumar's OMG 2, which comes 11 years after the original film, has now become the 4th highest-grossing Bollywood film with an A certificate.
Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 has become a box office success after a string of flops. After delivering five underperformers at the box office with the likes of Selfiee (2023) and Raksha Bandhan (2022), Akshay Kumar appeared in the follow-up of his 2012 hit OMG. While the film had huge anticipation riding on it, CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) gave it an A certification, restricting its audience. Despite this, OMG 2 has performed well at the box office despite competition from Gadar 2 and other releases.
3 things you need to know:
- Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam star in OMG 2.
- The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film Oh! My God.
- The movie has entered the record books for a unique feat.
OMG 2 nears Rs 150 crore mark
After earning Rs 139.5 crore during its 17-day run at the box office so far, OMG 2 has become the fourth highest-grossing A-certified film in Bollywood. This development came after the film minted approximately Rs 4 crore on Sunday.

OMG 2 is now in a league of its own alongside the likes of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh (2019), Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files and Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story, all of which were certified A by CBFC. Shahid Kapoor starter Kabir Singh remains at the top of the list with Rs 278.24 crore collection. The Kashmir Files (2022) is in second place with Rs 252.50 crore business and The Kerala Story (2023) came in at 3rd place with Rs 238.27 crore. 2013 comedy film Grand Masti stands at the fifth position with Rs 102.50 crore collection.
OMG 2 beats Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani record
OMG 2 was released more than a week after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh starrer got its fair share at the box office and even won audience praise. In its second week, RARKPK collected Rs 47.45 crore, while OMG 2 minted Rs 41.37 crore. However, the total two-week collection showed that OMG 2 had the upper hand. The two-week collection of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was Rs 120.78 crore while OMG 2 minted Rs 126.42 crore.
