Akshay Kumar to not charge fees for Welcome 3, Hera Pheri 3? Here's what we know

Akshay Kumar is currently in news for the all the right reasons. The actor has been basking in the success of OMG 2 and is currently busy with his upcoming film Mission Raniganj. Amid all this, the actor recently announced his next film, Welcome to the Jungle. Now, reports suggest that the actor has refused to take any fees and has entered into a profit-sharing model with Firoz Nadiadwala.

Akshay Kumar refuses fees for Welcome to the Jungle and Hera Pheri 3?

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the development revealed that Akshay Kumar is excited to return to Hera Pheri and Welcome franchises. However, owing to Firoz Nadiadwala's financial condition, the actor has decided to not take fees. Instead of fees, he will be entering into a profit-sharing model with Firoz Nadiadwala on the entire revenue, which means whatever the film will earn at the box office will be divided between Akshay and the others.

"Akshay knew that Firoz Nadiadwala wasn't in the best of financial condition, however, was very well aware that the basic idea of Welcome 3 and Hera Pheri 3 had the potential to emerge as a humongous blockbuster. To start with, he first decided to completely sacrifice his fees and entered into a profit-sharing model with Firoz Nadiadwala on the entire revenue. Firoz wanted to retain the IP, and hence he has complete control over the IP, however, he will be sharing revenue with Akshay in a pre-decided ratio," Bollywood Hungama quoted a source saying.

How did Akshay Kumar and Firoz Nadiadwala bring Jio Studios on board? 

The source further explained how Akshay Kumar designed the exit plan and brought Jio Studios on board to partner with the director. The source said that the actor personally spoke to Jio Studios to join hands with Firoz. "Once Jio came on board, it was one arrow, 3 solutions - Firoz got out of his debts, the franchises were revived and Akshay will be getting his share of profit from Jio, without any risk of films getting shelved," said a source.
