Animal box office collection day 8: Ranbir starrer becomes highest-grossing A-rated Indian film

Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor is witnessing a gradual decline at the box office. Despite a strong start, recent figures indicate a noticeable drop in collections. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Animal recorded a dip in its Friday collection as compared to Thursday (₹24.23 crore), and minted ₹23.5 crore. Now, the film's total collection in India stands at ₹361.08 crore.

Animal sets a new record

Animal has completed its first week in domestic theaters, smashing the ₹300 crore benchmark. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, this achievement sets a fresh record, surpassing the prior record-holder, Kabir Singh. The 2019 hit concluded its Indian run at ₹278.80 crore nett, as per Sacnilk. However, Animal raced past this figure in just a few days. With Animal surpassing Kabir Singh, the film has now become the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film.

Animal's box office performance in a week of its release

Animal initially showcased promise by earning ₹43.96 crore on Monday. However, the subsequent days witnessed a downward trend, with earnings of ₹37.47 crore on Tuesday, ₹30.39 crore on Wednesday, and ₹24.23 crore on Thursday, signalling a diminishing momentum at the box office.

Meanwhile, the film collected ₹338 crore from all the languages in its first week (within seven days), including ₹300.81 crore from Hindi, ₹33.45 crore from Telugu, ₹2.73 crore from Tamil, ₹0.52 crore from Kannada and ₹0.07 crore from Malayalam.

While Animal attained the status of the second-fastest film to cross the ₹300 crore milestone in India, achieving this feat in six days, it shares this position with Pathaan. However, Jawan remains the fastest film to surpass ₹300 crore, accomplishing this milestone in just five days.

At the global box office, Animal has collected ₹563.3 crore, showcasing great performance on the international stage. The film's official X account celebrated this achievement on Friday, describing it as an "Epic Triumph Animal." Notably, the movie is closing in on the box office collection of Ranbir Kapoor's previous hit, Sanju.
