Animal: Sandeep Reddy Vanga reveals Ranbir Kapoor disliked THIS in the film

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is basking in the success of his recently released film Animal, which is roaring at the box office. Since the film achieved a milestone, the director has been busy sharing some anecdotes related to the film. In a recent interview, Vanga opened up about the one thing that Ranbir Kapoor disliked in Animal.

What does Ranbir Kapoor dislike in Animal?

Speaking to Komal Nahta, the Vanga shared an interesting insight into Ranbir's stance during the making of Animal. The director, who collaborated for the first time with the actor shared that he didn't like the 'superstar' tag linked to his name in the credits. He added that while the actor was accommodating in every scene and dialogue, Ranbir didn't agree to the 'superstar' tag in the audio teaser.

Vanga tried to make Ranbir understand that in South cinema such tags are common, but the actor was adamant to get it removed. However, Vanga defended by citing the superstar aura Ranbir carries. “No one asked me why we gave him that tag. He is not on social media. If you want to see him, you have to give money over the counter and see him (in theatres). He doesn’t do many ads either so that’s a star na," Vanga concluded.

Why Parineeti Chopra was replaced in Animal?

In the same interview, the director revealed why he replaced Parineeti despite her being his first choice for the role of Geetanjali. The director revealed that he had signed the actress a year and a half before the shoot. However, for some reason, he couldn't envision the character Geetanjali in her. He added, "Kuch kuch characters kuch kuch logo ko set nahi hota hai" (Some characters don't suit some people)".

So he apologised to her and said that nothing is bigger than the film. "Sorry, nothing is bigger than the film. So I’m taking this decision and going ahead with some other artist." He shared that Parineeti felt bad but understood the reasons behind his decision.
