Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 premiered in theatres on August 11. The film was given A certificate by the Central Board of Certification, restricting it to an adults-only audience. In the past few weeks, several actors from the movie have come out in demand to change the certification from A to U/A, a film that children below 12 years of age can watch under parental guidance. They believe as OMG 2 is based on sex education, it is essential for the younger audience to watch. In between this, Anupam Kher shared his experience of watching the film and added that there were some "teenage children" in the audience.

3 things you need to know

  • OMG 2 stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles.
  • The theme of the movie revolves around sex education.
  • Previously, cast members including Akshay Kumar, Aarush Varma, and Govind Namdeo have reacted to the A certification.

Anupam Kher reviews OMG 2

Anupam took to his Instagram handle on Sunday and heaped praise on OMG 2. He called it “an important film of our times.” The actor added he saw teenage children with their parents in the audience (despite it being an Adults-only movie).

He wrote, “Just finished watching #OMG2. Spectacular, stylish & a Very important film of our times. A film on #SexEducation with ease and wonderful aesthetics! It was houseful. Saw parents with their teenage children. Obviously, the film has struck a chord with the audiences!” However, Anupam’s post necessarily doesn’t refer to the minor audience as people of age 18-19 are also considered teenagers.

Additionally, The Kashmir Files star heaped praise on the entire team of the film but called Akshay Kumar the star of the movie. “Full marks to writer/director #AmitRai. @TripathiiPankaj is BRILLIANT. He makes acting look easy but I know there is huge preparation behind it. @yamigautam is beautifully sharp & excellent. I loved #PavanMalhotra as the judge. The film’s star undoubtedly is my friend & #GOAT𓃵 @akshaykumar! His Mahadev is so effortless and charming, ” he concluded.

OMG 2 cast not happy with A certificate

Earlier this week, Aarush Varma, who played Pankaj Tripathi's son in OMG 2, filed a petition in the court to get rid of the A certification. Govind Namdeo, who plays the role of Pujari in the franchise, also slammed the CBFC for its senseless censorship. OMG 2’s director Amit Rai added that they begged the CBFC to give their film a U/A certificate but they didn't.
