Baby John: Keerthy Suresh Reacts To Reprising Samantha's Role, Says She Played It 'So Effortlessly'

Keerthy Suresh is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John. The movie is months away from hitting the theatres but has already created a heavy buzz on the Internet with its posters. Helmed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, the action drama is the Hindi remake of the Tamil movie Theri, starring Thalapathy Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead.

In a recent interview, Keerthy, who is busy promoting her upcoming movie Raghu Thatha, opened up about her character in Baby John. The actress will be stepping into Samantha's shoes to portray her role in Baby John.

In an interview with Galatta Plus, Keerthy said Samantha's character Mithra, Vijay's wife, was "very beautiful" and she played it so "effortlessly". She added that it is scary to do a remake, but for Baby John, she is not scared because the character has been played beautifully in the original. "It has been picturised very well, and the role has come out very well too,” said Keerthy.

Opening up about the changes in Baby John, she said that the story and everything about the movie is the same. It is just that the remake is releasing eight years after the original. "So changes to accommodate the time and space have been made. Also, what really worked in Tamil doesn’t necessarily have to work in Hindi. So, those kinds of changes have been made too," Keerthy added. She concluded by saying that her hopes are high for Baby John.

Bankrolled by Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani and Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios and A for Apple Productions, Baby John is scheduled to hit the screens on December 25. The movie also stars Sanya Malhotra, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff, in pivotal roles.
