Diljit Dosanjh starrer Jaswant Singh Khalra biopic titled Punjab 95; to premiere at TIFF

Diljit Dosanjh starrer upcoming film on Jaswant Singh Khalra might finally get a theatrical release. Ever since its announcement, the film has been surrounded by controversies related to its dialogues and title. The makers Tuesday shared an update on the film's title via a new poster.

Diljit Dosanjh's look as Jaswant Singh Khalra revealed

The musician-actor recently dropped the first poster of his upcoming film and shared its new title -- Punjab 95. The film was earlier titled Ghallughara. Sharing the Instagram post Diljit wrote, “Waheguruji ka Khalsa Waheguruji ki Fateh! 🙏 World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival📌 Presenting the first look of Punjab ‘95, a compelling story based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra Ji.”

Alongside the first-look poster and the new title, the makers also announced that Punjab 95 will premiere at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September. The intense-looking poster, which featured Diljit Dosanjh, Arjun Rampal, and Suvinder Vicky, indicated that all the actors would be seen in pivotal roles. The makers, however, are yet to announce a release date. 

Earlier this month, the film received an A certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). This happened reportedly after the board suggested 21 cuts including altering dialogues and revising the title of the film. 

Punjab 95, directed by Honey Trehan, is likely to premiere at TIFF on September 11.
