Dream Girl 2 Box Office Day 10: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer earns ₹116 crore worldwide

Dream Girl 2 is headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday. In its 10-day theatrical run, the film has emerged as a hit, much-needed for the lead stars. The film is slowly inching towards ₹100 crore at the domestic box office.

Can Dream Girl 2 enter ₹100 crore club in India?

The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer has been holding steady at the box office as the film enters its second week. As per early estimates by Sacnilk, Dream Girl 2 minted ₹2.75 crore on its second Monday, taking the movie’s total collection to ₹88.91 crore. Dream Girl 2 enjoyed a good second weekend as it collected ₹18.50 crore. With its steady pace, the film may soon breach the ₹100 crore mark.

Trade analyst Sumit Kadel shared that Dream Girl 2 is a hit film and is “eying lifetime biz in the range of ₹100 crore from here on”. However, in order to achieve the feat, the film will have to sustain competition from Gadar 2, Kushi and the upcoming release, Jawan. The coming days remain crucial for the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer. However, it will not be able to beat Dream Girl collection, which stood at ₹141 crore plus.

According to the makers, the comedy film has collected over ₹116 crore gross in 10 days since its release. Director Raaj Shandilyaa shared the film's worldwide collection and expressed his gratitude.

Ayushmann Khuranna on the success of theatrical films

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the lead actor of Dream Girl 2 opened up about the massive success of movies like Gadar 2, OMG 2 and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani at the box office. Sharing his excitement about the same he said, “The sense of community viewing is back.”

He added, “I'm glad this space is back again and people are going to theaters and even mid-budget, small-budget films are working because intrinsically my films are not big-budget films they are just good with content and yeah that's a big relief.”
