Farhan Akhtar is known for giving memorable and hit movies to Bollywood such as Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya and the series of Don movies. Last year, the director and actor announced the third installment of Don and introduced Ranveer Singh as the new Don. However, months later rumours started doing the rounds that the movie had been shelved. However, now Farhan and his producer partner, Ritesh Sidhwani put the rest to the speculations.

Don 3 begins in 2025: Farhan Akhtar

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Farhan confirmed that he will be starting the filming of Don 3 next year and shared that he is really looking forward to it. “It has been a while since I directed a film and I can’t complain about it as I enjoyed being a part of some wonderful films. I do feel a very strong urge to direct these films,” he said. During the conversation, he also revealed that he will also be directing Jee Le Zaraa.

When asked if he has locked the timelines of both the movies. To this, he simply laughed and said it’s not about dates. He added that there are many people involved and the dates need to be matched with everyone. However, he assured that movie buffs will “definitely see these two movies” from him as a director.

What else do we know about Don 3?

Apart from Ranveer Singh, Kiara Advani is also part of the franchise, but the makers are yet to unveil her character. The movie will go on floors in the first quarter of 2025.

Don 3 will be followed by Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. It will be based on three friends and will mark the first women-centric road romantic comedy-drama.
