Fukrey 3 trailer: Pankaj Tripathi, Pulkit Samrat ensemble comedy promises to pack a punch

The official trailer for Fukrey 3 is out. After repeated delays and postponements, the Mrigdeep Singh Lamba directorial appears to finally be on track for its theatrical release. The third installment of the franchise features majority of the star cast return to reprise their roles which over the years, have come to be remembered fondly.

Fukrey 3 trailer packs a punch

The makers of Fukrey 3 recently released the trailer for the much-awaited comedy flick. Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma lead the charge in the ensemble comedy as Hunny and Choocha. The trailer neatly charts the growth of all the characters in the film with a steady flow of callbacks from the previous two installments. The trailer manages to evoke a sense of nostalgia even as it creates excitement for what the gang of misfits get themselves embroiled in, next.

The entire star cast returns to the third installment of the franchise. Pankaj Tripathi and Richa Chaddha reprise their respective roles of Pandit and Bholi Punjaban, commanding screen presence. Ali Fazal, is the only star cast member who will not be part of the film. The actor has previously also apologised to fans for having to sit out of Fukrey 3 owing to schedule conflicts with Mirzapur, which stars him as Guddu Pandit. 

Fukrey 3 has set a release date after multiple delays

Fukrey 3 was initially slated for a release on September 7. However, the film stood postponed to a winter release later this year. After much back and forth, a third - and presumably final release date for the film has been set at September 28. Prior to the trailer release, a series of character posters for the star cast was also shared with the audiences, promising to deliver on the same brand of eccentricity which has made the franchise so memorable.
