Gadar 2 Box Office Collection: Sunny Deol film beats KGF 2 to become 3rd highest grosser

Gadar 2 has continued to dominate the box office ever since its release on August 11. The sequel to the 2001 action film, the Anil Sharma directorial has maintained an impressive momentum. Following a minor decline during its second week, the film witnessed a significant boost over the third weekend.

The film has now surpassed the collection of KGF 2 (Rs 435 crore) and secured its position as the third-highest-grossing film (Hindi language) of all time. The film's current standing places it behind Pathaan (Rs 543 crore nett) and Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion (Rs 511 crore nett).

Gadar 2 gets a boost on third Saturday

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh Gadar 2 earned Rs 13.75 crore on Saturday taking its total to Rs Rs 439.35 crore in 16 days. The movie is expected to cross the Rs 500 crore mark in its fourth week. However, surpassing Pathaan and Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion might be a challenging feat, especially with Jawan releasing on September 7.

Despite its impressive initial performance, Gadar 2 has managed to capture the audience's interest. The film registered more than 40% occupancy in the Hindi market as it entered its third weekend. Night shows remained particularly full, followed by evening, afternoon and morning screenings, as per Sacnilk.

Gadar 2 strong start at box office

Released on August 11 alongside Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2, Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 witnessed a strong start, earning Rs 40 crore on its opening day. The film recorded its maximum collection on Independence Day, generating a remarkable Rs 55 crore in earnings. This is a record collection for any film on August 15. Apart from Sunny and Ameesha Patel, the film stars Utkarsh Sharma, Simratt Kaur, Manish Wadhwa and Gaurav Chopra.
