Gadar 2 Box Office Collection: Sunny Deol film breaches Rs 450 crore mark in record time

Gadar 2 has been smashing box office records since it was released in theatres on August 11. After becoming the third highest-grossing Hindi film in India, the Sunny Deol starrer has now become the fastest Hindi film to breach the ₹450 crore mark. Previously, only two other films have managed to cross the ₹450 crore mark in India -- Pathaan and Baahubali 2.

Gadar 2 sets new record at box office

On its third Sunday, August 27, the Sunny Deol starrer minted Rs 16.10 crore. This took the film’s total collection to a staggering ₹456.95 crore in 17 days. Now, Gadar 2 is eyeing the collection of Baahubali 2 (₹510.99 crore) and Pathaan (₹543.09 crore) to emerge as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

Gadar 2 has become the fastest Hindi film to earn ₹450 crore. Previously, Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan took 18 days to earn ₹459.25 crore, whereas Baahubali 2 Hindi version minted ₹453.95 crore in 20 days of its release, as per Sacnilk. Gadar 2, on the other hand, has breached the ₹450 crore mark within 17 days of release.

Gadar 2 withstands competition from Dream Girl 2, OMG 2 

Gadar 2 has not only continued to pull the audience to theatres but has also sustained competition from several other releases, both old and new. The Anil Sharma directorial was released on the same day as OMG 2. The Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer has minted ₹135.08 crore so far. Released a week after Gadar 2, Abhishek Bachchan starrer Ghoomer failed to draw the audience and has collected ₹4.97 crore so far.

Meanwhile, Dream Girl 2 is off to a good start at the box office. After its first weekend, the Ayushmann Khuranna starrer has collected ₹40.71 crore. Gadar 2 has emerged as its biggest competition.
